Sperm are only viable at the proper temperature. When the testes become too hot due to body temperature (as in on a very warm day), the scrotum hangs loosely, and farther away from the body in order to allow for air circulation and cooling. On very cold days (or when submerged in the cold water), the scrotum shrinks and becomes very firm, so the testes are held close to the body to take advantage of the body's higher core temperature.

∙ 12y agoThe skin around your sac is very soft as your testicles always have to be cooloer than the inside of your body.Thus being soft,allows the scrotum itself to contract closer toward the body on colder days & retract or droop on warmer days !
