Well you may want to have a chat with your piercer and ask that is up, that doesn't sound right to me.

yes it will after a while i had the bottom side of my lip pierced and re pierced about four times now, at first it left a dark mark were the piercing used to be but now its just a small hole...barley noticeable.

Lift your tongue up to make sure its even.7). Stick the needle through.8). Put the barbell through and tighten the balls.9). rinse your mouth again then your all done.i just got mine done yesterday n i am a whimp when it comes to needles n it didnt hurt..i thought i was going to have someone hold my head so i wouldn't move but nope i didnt..they don't hurt till the three days after that's when it will swell and drewl..i recomend yu getting it pierced :)
