Well , the Colt has a very small engine and a smaller amount of horsepower compared to a Sedan or a truck. It's body weight to horsepower ratio is not very good resulting in poor acceleration. There are a few things you can do but not much.
High octane gas, making sure engine is tuned ( changing oil , running fuel injector cleaner etc.), muffer switchout, computer chip,ignition systemswitch out are all pretty easy and inexpensive mods.
Another solution is dropping another engine in ( one from a Lancer) or switching out your transmission or having your regeared , or lighten the body (all big money)
