Keep in mind that gravity is not SOUTH pulling on NORTH or vice versa. The reason why the Nile runs south to north is because as the river heads toward the Mediterranean Sea the land gradually declines.
It does not.
Actually it does. I'm in 6th grade and learning about that. The Nile flows upstream because of gravity.
The majority of the Nile runs south to north because of gravity. However, there are also parts of the river that run north to south, ex. about 200 miles in Sudan. At no point, however, can the river run upstream. Upstream by definition is opposite the flow of the river (Merriam-Webster).
Gravity - Rivers [water] will always flows from the high point to the low point and in the Nile's case the high point is in the south so it flows north.
What a wounderful answer you get an A+!
it does because were it starts is high land and were it ends is lower. its highland in the south so it must go downland to the north. Bill
Rivers can only flow downhill. It just so happens that the higher land between the Nile and the Red Sea, forces the River Nile to flow north and empty into the Mediterranean Sea.
Gravity.
The Nile River Flows North.
Initially it does as it flows out of Lake Tana, but turns north and flows into Sudan and merges with the White Nile.
The region of Northern Egypt is termed Lower Egypt because it is further downstream on the Nile River. Conversely, the region of Southern Egypt is termed Upper Egypt because it is further upstream on the Nile River. The Nile River flows from south to north.
The Nile River flows from the North
The Nile River flows north.
The Nile river begins in east Africa and flows north to the Mediterranean Sea.
South to north. The river just flows down hill, from the high mountains in the middle of Africa to the Nile delta (point where Nile enters the Mediterranean Sea).
The Nile flows from the south to the north.
It was going against the flow of the river. The Nile flows north.
Egypt's Nile River is probably the most significant of these.
The mouth of the Nile opens into the Mediterranean.
The Nile flows from south to north, emptying into the Mediterranean Sea.
