Yes this is caused by the Iron Oxide in the soil.

Is it red?? I thought it was a bit greyish because of the Mars Face. If you type the italics in Google it gives you a grey face on the planet. Anyway, thanks for letting me know!
Mars' surface has a large proportion of iron oxide, more commonly known as rust. This compound's properties result in it emitting light mainly in the orange-red part of the visible spectrum, giving the entire planet its famous red appearance.
mars has a reddish brown color because of the iron on its surface which has rusted from the small amount of oxygen in the atmospere.
Mars appears red because it consists mostly of iron oxide, aka, rust. Iron rusts and turns red when it comes in contact with oxygen, and so because Mars is iron rich, and that iron touches oxygen, Mars is red.
OK this is easy it is red cause of RUST that's right rust we don't no how it gets there but it makes it red. The rust make it red the sky ground and pretty much anything Else
Mars is orange.
I think orange
Mars.
The red planet is Mars, 4th planet from the sun and 7th largest. The name of the month of March derives from the name Mars
Mars is known as the red planet. This is because the iron in the soil gives it a red color. Mars is thought to have once had lakes and oceans.
the red planet , mars
Mars has a red apperance. It's known as the Red Planet.
Because mars is the only visibly red planet in our solar system. It has a unique surface of red.
The planet Mars is named after Mars, the Roman god of war. I believe the reason it was given its name was that Mars is red in colour and it reminded the namer of the planet of blood.
Mars has a surface which is covered in red-orange dust. The dust contains oxides of iron. Rust is made of iron oxides. So, it's basically just rust. It's rusty dust. That's the scientific answer.

Mars is the red color of rust.
The reason that makes mars read is not due to a element but to different elements chained together or otherwise known as a molecule the molecule what makes Mars red is iron oxide or in layman's terms rust. The chemical formula for iron oxide is is Fe2O3.
