Perhaps the knob is on upside down? On my oven the knobs are removeable, you just pull it off.
There are many different brands of sauna heaters available. Each sauna heater system has a fail safe temperature control. This control automatically shuts down the heating element when the temperature reaches between 150 - 190 degrees Fahrenheit.
There has to be a way to turn down the temperature somewhere on your water heater. There is either a dial on a manual control or up and down arrows on an eletronic one.
The opposite of up is down. So, opposite of the opposite of up is up itself.
The opposite of down is up.
One of the factors that can you control that would slow down the reproduction of bacteria is the temperature and the humidity. Many bacteria grow best in a warm, humid environment similar to human body temperature.
The opposite of "put down" is 'pick up'.

No. The opposite of attract is to repel. To "calm down" (someone) would be the opposite of infuriate or excite.

Well, given that the category is "Human Anatomy", my answer would be this: Humans, like all mammals, are warm blooded creatures. We make our own body temperature (cold blooded creatures are subject to the air around them - they cannot control their own body temperature). But that means our bodies only work properly in a narrow range of temperatures. If our environment pushes that temperature above a certain level, we sweat - profusely - to try and cool ourselves down. If the temperature of our environment is too low for us to maintain our normal body heat, we shiver - a last-dich attempt by our bodies to create more heat in our muscles. The key element is that we strive both physiologically - and by control of our environment - to stay in a temperature range where we can survive. But at least we have some control over that. That's the advantage of being a mammal - a human.
