electronic short in computer system or a short in a current of the main circuit
If the engine isn't running, the battery is low. If the engine is running, the alternator probably has a problem. If you are wearing dark sunglasses, remove them and the lights will get brighter. good luck!
If its a series 2 (roughly 1998 - 2004) the interior lights shut themselves off after about a minute. If the engine is running and you shut the door and reopen it the lights will come back on. If the engine is off the lights will not come on when you reopen the door - you'll have to turn the key on first * On the 96 Disco you can turn off the interior light by moving the headliner lamp switch (3 position)to the off position.
Why do interior lights stay on when engine is shut off on 2001 Lincoln Continental car?
On my Tahoe one of the door triggers was going bad.
Check the light dimmer switch inside. It should be on the left side of the steering wheel next to the headlight switch. More than likely it is pushed all the way over to keep the interior lights on.
I am not a mechanic, however as an electrician it sounds like the running board lights are wired to the same relay as the interior lights. To check this, simply crank the truck, leave all the exterior lights off, turn on the interior light, then walk around the truck and look at the running board lights. If they are on then turn the interior light off and the parking lights on, check to see if the running board lights come back on. Depending on the make and model of the truck, I could be way off in left field and this info may not apply. uuummmm.....programing?
It sounds like a blown fuse or a bad head light switch
A Diesel Vehicle Needs a Battery Because...It needs something to store electrical energy. Some of the things needing that stored energy in order to operate when the engine is not running include:Starter to crank and start the engine.Lights [hazard flasher lights, headlights, parking lights, brake lights, interior lights, engine compartment and trunk interior work lights] when the engine is not operating.Radio and other sound/entertainment systems.Other devices like power mirrors, seats, windows, and trunk and fuel filler covers, etc.].The HVAC [heating, ventilating and air conditioning] blower.Other devices that I can't think of right now. Also, even when the engine IS running, the battery acts as a "buffer" to dampen pulsations [voltage, noise, etc.] in the alternator output circuit.
yes, because your lights run on your car battery
Headlights, interior lights, parking lights,Headlights, interior lights, parking lights,
Remove the fuse on the interior fuse box
you probally have a ground wire off
