BECAUSE YOU'RE HUNGRY.

Yes, but here's more on that.

the almost empty stomach is allowing gas to accumulate, when this gas enters the intestine it can make a gurgling or growling sound, even when you are not hungry this can happen deeper down in the intestine, it is why sometimes you stomach can make a noise even without you being hungry.

Your stomach 'gurgles' because it's already digested all the food currently in your body. The 'gurgle' is actually your stomach acids draining, kind of like when you have a lot of water in a sink and then pull the plug, and it makes a weird draining sound.

You are either hungry, need to go to the bathroom, have a stomachache, or don't have enough fluids in your stomach.

The effect is due to the muscular contractions of the walls of the stomach. It is generally a signal that you need some food in your stomach.
