Atheists generally have made a decision that all of the presented proofs for a deity are faulty and have concluded that no evidence supports the existence of god(s). Like knowing that there is no monster under the bed, you don't have to explain why there is no god(s).

There are a plethora of reasons why one may disbelieve in a god. One could see no evidence of the existence of a deity and come to this conclusion, or they could see evidence against the existence of a god.
People might not always come to the conclusion of atheism for logical reasons. They may be emotional, like a loved one dying, or for completely spiritual means. An example of this would be Jainism or Buddhism, they do not believe in any deities. There are even cases of people becoming atheists for the soul purpous of rebelion.
These are just some examples on why people might become athiests. As you can see, atheists are not all alike in their beliefs. Some are staunch rationalists.

∙ 11y agoWhy don't Christians believe in the Buddha, Mohammed, Gaea, the Raelians, Vishnu, or any other god? Any placement here is irrelevant. Any of these beliefs could be interchangeable. For instance, why don't Buddhists believe in...? Once the theist understands why he doesn't believe in all gods, he will understand why atheists reject his god.
