-Because some people consider it to be a strictly religious holiday, and think that it clashes with their own beliefs. Many nonreligious people do choose to celebrate, because it is a fun tradition regardless of religious value. People who are Jewish, for example, will celebrate Hannukah instead, though some people celebrate both. moreover all the people are not christans

Traditionally, Christmas has been a celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ. In more recent times, it is often celebrated as a secular holiday by non-religious people as well. Countries that have been predominantly Christian in the past tend to be the ones in which Christmas is celebrated.

Christmas is a Christian holiday, and so countries where Christianity is unknown or not widely practiced/accepted do not know of Christmas, much less celebrate it. These countries include: North Korea and a number of Middle Eastern and North African countries.

In other places where Christianity exists but isn't the majority or national religion, Christmas may be celebrated but not as a public/ national holiday. These countries include: China, Japan, parts of Southeast Asia, Africa and the Middle East.
