Bangladesh mainly lies in the Eastern part of India. As we all know when you move East in the GMT timeline the time increases and when you move west in the timeline the time gradually decreases. for this reason india is half an hour faster then Pakistan and half and hour slower than Bangladesh.

Because sun rises half an hour ago in Bangladesh compared to the area of Indian standard time (IST). If IST was based on Assam, India and Bangladesh both would have the same time.
