Kansas is NOT just flat. sure you see planty of pictures but that is only a small part of kansas. we have many hills and a lot more colors than brown. look it up.

Unfortunately yes. Tornadoes are a routine event wherever the terrain is flat enough, which is most of the midwestern USA; Kansas, Nebraska, Missouri and Illinois. Parts of Kansas and Missouri are nicknamed "Tornado Alley" for the frequency of tornadoes. Many farms in Kansas even have an underground tornado shelter; I'm sure you've seen the movie "The Wizard of Oz"?
