It is by preying upon arthropods that a frog is considered a natural pest control agent. Nuisance organisms may be controlled non-chemically when predator - prey relationships are comprehended and facilitated in such cases as frogs eating harmful insects.

Frogs eat the insects and other invertebrates. This helps the population of the insects and invertebrates because it keeps their population from growing too large. If it grows too large, there will not be enough food for everybody and the species will eventually die out from food shortage. Those that don't die from food shortage will be picked off by predators, therefore ending another innocent species.
