Because when Ponyboy has those dreams, the ones he can not remember, is terrifing to Ponyboy and Pony either wakes up screaming bloody murder or in a cold sweet. Darry is concerned because the dreams are in a way harming his brother.
I think because he thinks it wont ever happen and he dosent want ponyboy to feel sad when it donsent work out.

Ponyboy is concerned because he feels like he has just made up with darry! He feels like now he understands him and realizes why he did things so he (Ponyboy) doesn't want to hurt Darry anymore!
