It's not. The Old Testament is filled with lists of abominations (directed only at Jews). For example, shellfish (ie shrimp) is considered an abomination equal to homosexuality.

Answer

The New Testament is filled with Jesus preaching LOVE. To everyone.

homosexuality..IS sinfull.. and sin Is bad..yes Jesus said to love everyone, but He did Not mean in that such a way..we love the people but hate the sin/actions.

God said Not men should Not lay with men, nor women with women, nor humans with animals... [The Hebrew Bible never says women can't lie with women]

Homosexuality is a sin. He said it was. It's sin rather sleep with that person or not. And it's nasty. God says it's nasty throught out The Bible [because 2 verses are the definition of "throuought the Bible" and also, God never said this].

Most religions do not consider homosexuality a sin. However, Christianity and Islam make up about half of the population of the planet, and those religions consider homosexuality a sin because of their ancient scriptures. But those are only 2 groups of religions. There are thousands of other religions that recognize homosexuality as natural healthy human behavior.

The book of Genesis says a man shall not lay down with a man as he does with a woman. So if a man shall not lay down with man. Then two men should not be married. And the Book of Revelation chapter 22 says that any person who takes my Words (Bible) and turns them to their benefit. They shall be removed from the Book of Life.

How many religions consider homosexuality a sin?

A:Most Christian denominations used to regard homosexuality as a sin, although there is change towards tolerance and acceptance. Most of Judaism also regards homosexuality as a sin. Islam is, by and large, stridently homophobic, although homosexuality is practised openly in some of the most fundamentalist areas such as Afghanistan but in a way that allows it not to be regarded as homosexuality. The ancient Greco-Roman state religion considered morality as a secular matter, not something for religion to concern itself with, so Greece was very tolerant of homosexuality, while it was frowned upon in Rome. Egyptian religion was known to encourage sexuality, so it seems to have been tolerant of homosexuality. The mystery religions that emerged in the eastern Mediterranean region at around the same time as Christianity demanded confession of sins, but not much seems to be known about what they regarded as sin. Eastern religions also tend to consider morality as a secular matter, rather than a religious one.

What is the difference between thoughts of homosexuality and thoughts of murder?

First of all, murder is a serious crime, while in most western jurisdictions, homosexuality is not. Although some religions regard homosexuality as a sin, it is a victimless sin, unlike murder. So, thinking of homosexuality may be natural for some, but thinking of murder never should be.

Is the sin of betrayal the most serious sin a person can commit?

Each religion has its own hierarchy of the seriousness of various sins, but betrayal is high on the list for all of them. "MOST" serious? Most religions rate blasphemy as a more serious sin than betrayal, although you could consider blasphemy as a betrayal of God, not just of man.
