In more temperate latitudes in the northern hemisphere temperaures are low in december becuase the sun's rays strike earth as a very oblique angle, meaning the energy is more spread out, and the same amount of surface recieved less heat. Nigeria is in the tropics, very close to the equator where the sun is at a high angle no matter what time of year it is. As a result, the amount of solar energy recieved is alway high and temperatures remain warm year round.
