Have you ever held a grudge? Are you holding one right now? If so how long are you going to hold that grudge before forgiving them? Will it be days, weeks, years? Today I want you to ask yourself the questions, why is it important to forgive? Well if you don't know why, keep reading on and I will try to explain why it is important to forgive.

First of all, not forgiving can lead to not only spoiling the relationship with that person, but also with their family and friends. For the simple fact that you refuse to forgive can lead to people losing trust in you. This may have long lasting effects on that friendship even if you choose to forgive later.

Lastly, that person may be truly sorry for what they did and are hoping that you forgive them. All it may take is a simply and short "I forgive you" to regain this aquantance's trust back. As long as that person is sorry for what they did it will be easy to get back what friendship you may have lost.

In conclusion, you should forgive because it may cause you to lose other relationships, they other person may be sorry for what they did and are hoping that you will forgive them, and lastly it is easy to do and may solve everything.

NOTE: I did this for an online essay and got a TWO out of SIX but i guess it does kinda suck. comment on my pag and tellme if it sux

Why is it important to forgive others?

There are two Important aspects to forgive someone. 1. You must forgive. You should forgive even though that person isn't sorry, and pray for them continuously. If a wife divorces her husband because he abused her, she should pray and forgive him. When you forgive, it's like taking a step towards heaven. It says in the bible, Peter asks, "How much should I forgive? As much as seven times?" And Jesus replies, "Not just seven times, but seventy seven times..." This is just something to think about and put into practice. Not literally "I forgive you" seventy seven times, but it means to forgive and mean it. 2. How much that person needs the forgiveness. Everyone needs forgiveness. And God is the one who gives it if no one else does. That doesn't mean if someone says "I forgive you", your sin is gone. you still have to confess it by going to confession.
