AnswerThe 'good news' of Jesus Christ is the gospel message that Jesus did what we cannot do - He died as a substitute in our place to make atonement for our sins and put all who believe or trust in Him into a right relationship with God. His resurrection is the 'seal' or assurance of all He did on Calvary and was certainly 'good news' to the frightened and unbelieving disciples who were 'slow to believe' all that was taught about this both in the Old Testament and by Jesus Himself, as well as to all believers since. Romans 1:16 (King James Version)16For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

John 3:16 is possibly amongst the most quoted verses in the New Testament which summarizes the gospel message.

John 3:16 (King James Version)16For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Paul, in giving an early Christian creed, probably given to him in his early days as a Christian, provides another summary of gospel truth.

1 Corinthians 15:1-7 (King James Version)

1Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;

2By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.

3For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;

4And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

5And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve:

6After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep.

7After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles.

ANSWER:

"Gospel" means "good news," glad tidings. It's a MESSAGE. The "gospel" (good news) of Jesus Christ is the MESSAGE He preached.

"...Jesus came into Galilee, PREACHING the GOSPEL of the KINGDOM OF GOD, and saying, The time is fulfilled, and the KINGDOM OF GOD IS AT HAND: REPENT ye, and BELIEVE THE GOSPEL." (Mark 1:14:15)

because jesus is hope and hope is good news

Answer:

According to Jesus, it's His "message" that's the good news:

"...Jesus came into Galilee, PREACHING THE GOSPEL [good news] OF THE KINGDOM OF GOD, and saying, The time is fulfilled, and THE KINGDOM OF GOD IS AT HAND: REPENT YE, and BELIEVE THE GOSPEL [good news]." (Mark 1:14-15)

The "good news" is that the errant governments of men are going to be taken out of his hands... and God's righteous Government is going to establish peace on the earth.

Jesus was able to begin preaching that good news just after He defeated Satan and his temptations. Jesus didn't "bow to Satan" and "worship him" before His Father in heaven [the first Commandment, which Adam and Eve failed to do in the beginning].

Jesus qualified to "head up the New Government of God" and is the KING of that coming Kingdom. The good news is that the loving, caring Government of God is coming... and through Jesus Christ is Eternal Life available to "all the families of the earth" as He promised Abraham long ago.

Not until Jesus was that promise able to be "fulfilled." And all the phases of God's plan began to be fulfilled... the last of it, upon Jesus' return with the Kingdom... culminating with Judgment Day and salvation.

In ancient Rome the birth of Emperors was announced throughout the kingdom as Good News or gospel. When Jesus was born he fulfilled the prophecies of a King "through whom all the nations of the earth would be blessed." So if an Emperor of one nation was Good News (Gospel means the same thing), then certainly the birth of the King of the world would constitute!

If you are saved through Jesus Christ and have god in your heart then It is a wonderful thing I guess.

Answer:

Jesus is coming back to establish His Kingdom on earth. God's laws, God's rule, God's ways of doing things... the way of Living Life in accordance to His Word.

That means, all of man's errant rulership on earth, along with all of his self-aggrandizing governments will be removed... PERMANENTLY!

"...the Kingdom and Dominion, and the greatness of the Kingdom under the whole heaven, shall be given to the saints of the Most High, whose Kingdom is an Everlasting Kingdom, and dominions shall serve and obey Him." (Dan.7:27)

"The seventh angel sounded [the seventh and 'last trump' that heralds Jesus' return - I Cor.15:52 & I Thess.4:16]; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of His Christ; and He shall reign for ever and ever." (Rev.11:15)

So, if you step back a second and take an honest look at the world, and what man's governments have done... and are doing -- the coming of Jesus Christ to remove them is the best news this world could ever hear, and have happen to it.

Men won't like it when it happens... because God is coming back "making war" to remove man's power by force. But in the end, it will be for his own good.

"...I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and He that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in Righteousness He doth Judge and MAKE WAR." (Rev.19:11)

Plus, we have been and are being "conditioned" through all the "invasion from outer space" movies, to respond to Jesus' coming in a negative and aggressive manner -- even though an "alien invasion" is exactly what Jesus' return will be. Thus, will Satan coerce the governments of man to assemble their armies at Armageddon, to fight off the "alien invasion" that will be evident in the clouds.

"For they are the spirits of devils [demons], working miracles, which go forth unto the kings [government leaders] of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that Great Day of God Almighty... And they gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon." (Rev.16:14-16)

The difference being, that this coming invasion will be to "save" man and earth... not to destroy and deplete it.

Jesus is coming back to destroy the "evil" on earth -- and in man.

"And the nations were angry [at Jesus' return], and thy wrath is come, and the time of the dead, that they should be Judged, and that thou shouldest give reward unto thy servants the prophets, and to the saints, and them that fear thy name, small and great; and shouldest destroy them which destroy the earth [the self-interest money groups who destroy the earth for the sake of greed and profit?]." (Rev.11:18)

One thing is certain. Mankind does NOT like the gospel[good news] message of the Bible... the prophesies of God's interference in man's affairs. Men don't like being told that they're wrong. And governments don't like the idea of being deposed -- by God or other men, it doesn't matter.

The governments of this world will fight tooth and nail to prevent their removal... if they can. Even though they will be powerless to stop Jesus' return and His "hostile takeover" of the earth.

"...out of His mouth goeth a Sharp Sword [see Heb.4:12], that with it He should SMITE THE NATIONS; and He shall rule them with a rod of iron... and on His thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS. And I saw an angel... and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, Come and gather yourselves together unto the Supper of the Great God; that ye may eat the flesh of kings, and flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and of them that sit on them, and the flesh of all men, both free and bond, both small and great." (Rev.19:15-18)

This... Satan's world... doesn't see Jesus' coming as "good news" -- but as the "worst news, ever!"

But, it will be the best news to anyone in the world who "sighs and cries" over the abominations that are done in the world.

"...set a mark upon the foreheads of the men that sigh and that cry for all the abominations that be done in the midst thereof. And to the others he said in mine hearing, Go ye after him through the city, and SMITE: let not your eye spare, neither have ye pity: slay utterly old and young, both maids, and little children, and women: but come not near any man upon whom is the mark..." (Ezek.9:4-6).

To pitiless and merciless men, Jesus' return won't be good news. To those who despair and seek Peace, Justice and Righteousness... God's will, His gospel, the good news of His Kingdom established on earth will be done [on earth, as it is in heaven].

The good news is the chance of redemption through His sacrifice on the cross. We were all doomed to burn in hell because of the sins of Adam and Eve. With His death, Satan was defeated. Now all obedient believers can be saved.

The birth of Jesus the Christ was and is good news as He is the promised Savior of the world. People have 2 choices. Accept Jesus Christ and be given eternal life with Him in heaven or ignore Jesus Christ and spend an eternity in the Lake of Fire (Revelation 20: 11-15).

Jesus said in John 14:6, "I am the way, the truth , and the life. No one comes to the Father (God in heaven) except through Me."

Jesus' birth brought salvation to a lost world, and that is certainly good news.
