your resevour should be on the drivers side under the hood. the valve to release presure is under the truck on the driverside as well. the process is messy and you will need 2… people but you just fill your resevour with dot 3 brake fluid and pump the clutch about 7 or 8 times and hold the clutch in while you release the presure. then release the clutch refill and repeat. i went through about 2 1/2 big bottles of brake fluid and about 3hrs of work before i got all the air out. good luck.
Answer . It depends on how high it is. My sonoma stays at 80 when cold and goes down about 10 minutes after its warm, and flucuates as i give more and less throttle. If it… goes about 80 I would take it to a tech and not drive it until it is resolved.
Auto Zone or any parts store that loans tools should have a fan clutch tool. it holds the pulley while you loosen the fan clutch nut
2 bolts under the dash and take the clip off from the inside holding the shaft to the pedal and the line from the outside it comes wit h a new pin if u buy a new one so grap i…t with something and rip the pin out getting it back in is the fun part i went thru the fender well it will pull out from undewr the hood
It is important for a car owner to know the location of all the carparts. The fuel tank pressure sensor for a 1998 GMC Sonoma islocated in the fuel pump assembly.?æ
There are four O2 sensors on that vehicle assuming you have a 4.3L engine. The 2.2L engine I believe has three. They are accessible underneath the vehicle and are threaded int…o the exhaust system. One is located on each end of the cat converter and the other ones are directly behind each bank of cylinders on the exhaust pipe. Each has a four wire harness attached that can be unplugged.. I can't tell you where it is SPECIFICALLY on your vehicle, but all Oxygen sensors are on the exhaust, and most are as close to the heads as possible, usually just after the exhaust manifold, screwed into the headpipe.
Throttle Body Injection (TBI) Aprox. 9 - 13 psi with key on, not running and a 3 -10 psi drop when running at idle.. Multiport Fuel Injection (MFI) Aprox. 41 -47 psi with key… on, not running and a 3 -10 psi drop when running at idle.. Central Multiport Fuel Injection (CMFI) Aprox. 58 -64 psi with key on, not running and a 3 -10 psi drop running at idle.. Central Sequential Electronic Fuel Injection (CSEFI) Aprox. 55 -61 psi with key on, not running and again the 3 -10 psi drop running at idle.
Inside the transmission
The starter on a 1998 GMC Sonoma is replaced by disconnecting thebattery, removing the outer cover, and unbolting it from theengine. The wiring harness can then be disconnecte…d, the starterremoved, and a new one put in place.
Concentric slave cylinder mounting-1996-99 vehicles equipped with the New Venture Gear transmission. Its mounted in your transmission, but the bleeder screw is assible because t…heres a hole in transmission, where bleeder is,just put wrench on and loosen, have someone one push clutch pedal to floor and hold, then open valve,do this till air is gone, theres another hole next to hole where bleeder screw is,a metal tube comes out of that one,its the clutch fluid line, good luck.
To Remove: 1. Remove or disconnect the following: Transmission Quick disconnect from the slave cylinder 2. Install a clutch alignment tool. 3. Mark the flywheel an…d a clutch pressure plate lug for the installation alignment if reusing the pressure plate. 4. Remove or disconnect the following: Pressure plate bolts and the washers 5. Secure the clutch pressure plate and the clutch driven plate to the flywheel. 5. Remove the clutch alignment tool. To install: 1. Install or connect the following: Bolts and the washers securing the clutch pressure plate and the clutch driven plate to the flywheel Clutch alignment tool 2. Install the pressure plate. Align the marks made during removal if reusing the pressure plate. Tighten the clutch pressure plate mounting bolts. Torque to: 30 ft. lbs. (40 Nm) on the NV3500 or 33 ft. lbs. (44 Nm) on the NV1500 3. Remove the clutch alignment tool. 4. Install or connect the following: Manual Transmission, Quick disconnect to the concentric slave cylinder 5. Bleed the clutch hydraulic system if necessary. 6. Test drive the vehicle to confirm the repairs.
Can mean a few things. Low hydraulic fluid( brake fluid) in clutch master cylinder, worn clutch disc, needs bleed, slave cylinder slowly losing seal, seals in master cylinder,… linkage problem. It could go forever but it is probably just the clutch disk material. To sum it up it means take it to the shop because if you don't know what it could be you most likely don't know how to fix it and it will only get worse to the point where it will not move
It is a big job. You must drop the transmission. Then you slide theslave valve off the transmission input shaft. While you are therespend the money and go ahead and replace th…e clutch if it is reallyold.
In GMC Sonoma
same as bleeding the air in the clutch line for any other car -stab the air.
