Suppose after 50 years. There's no gas, no coal, no resources. And then how human can sustain the life like now? You can't use cars, airplanes or so. U can't transport the objects to somewhere. You can't turn conditional on. Yes, really there are nothing that you can do. Even worse at that time maybe the world will be full of catastrophe disaster. Indeed the world will be as same as black. Let's turn back to now on. Did you ask me why protecting the environment is more important that economic development? NO PROTECTING NO LIFE

Neither and both. You can have economic development, which in the long term in unsustainable, and protect the environment at the same time. At some point though economic development will have to come to a halt if we want to preserve the environment, and the environment is what supports our lives, so ultimately the environment will win out; it must.
