Everything has a name. Blood happened to be called blood just because.

All words that we create are as inherently arbitrary as this one, meaning that the sound and spelling of the word almost always has nothing to do with the thing or concept being referred to. There is no objective reason for a feathered, winged flying creature to be called a "bird"; we call it a bird because at some point in the history of the language, a speaker or speakers decided that it was called a bird.

The word corpuscle means "little body". Little red bodies are the name for red blood cells. Most anatomy names are based on Latin and some Greek.

red blood cells contain haemoglobin which gives red colour to the RBC .hence it is called red blood cells where. heamoglobin is absent in WBC.
