Now, Samoa (no longer called Western Samoa) is an independent country, whereas American Samoa is still a US territory (but is governed by Samoan representatives and a Samoan Governor). The Two Samoas are American Samoa and Western Samoa. Western Samoa is consisted of the two islands Upolu and Savaii. Between those two islands, Savai'i is the largest. It is NOT called WESTERN SAMOA.
