Women should join the military for their own personal convictions and reasons. There is no proper answer to this question. It may be the same reasons that a man joins the military. It may be for money, patriotism, or glory. Women should challenge themselves and do what they want to do, men as well. We should stop separating ourselves from each other, we are all human beings and citizens of the world.

women should be able to serve in the military because they are becoming more and more powerful in every other aspect of life, why not in the military? As a military hopeful myself, I see no reason for woman to be turned away from the military. If we can pass the same tests as the men and do everything that they can do, then why would we be turned away because of the way that we were born. Also, the military has education options, like paying for college. If someone said that women don't belong in the military, and should be turned away, then they are also saying that women should be turned away from college options.

Women should not be allowed in combat elements of the military for multiple reasons. 1. Under certain austere conditions, women face extra hygiene issues that may be too difficult to address concerning their genitalia. 2. Special forms of affection can affect the performance of leaders and also colleagues in moments of battle. A man treating a woman he loves of fatal wounds may favor her over a male with less than life threatening injuries. This scenario would also apply to homosexuals in the military. 3. In a tactical situation it is impossible to maintain privacy. On numerous occasions men in combat units are exposed in the presence of one another. This is something many woman may find uncomfortable, and for the men, it may be distracting. 4. A pregnant woman would be very likely to undergo a miscarriage during routine combat operations. This would be countered by saying that sex would not be allowed in combat zones. This is the current standard, it it is still a reality. Those are facts but my personal belief is that despite those issues, women quite plainly are too weak to function as EFFECTIVE combatants. This statement is in no way sexist. Women are physiologically different from men. An average woman is about 5' 3" tall, maybe 110 lbs. A 5'3" tall, 110 lb. man would be unfit also.

Firstly, that is a very sexist question. Second, the question you have actually asked is obvious. If the women are in the military, of course they should be aloud into combat, as that is what the military is for! Thirdly, Women are just as capable as men in every aspect. Just because somebody is a different gender from yourself, you believe that they should be shunned and must be weaker than you? If a man can do something, a woman can do it. And likewise, Men can do anything Women can. And no, I'm not a woman. I'm actually a boy.

Yes, women should be allowed to fight in combat becasue they are just as capable as men are. People think that just because we are women that we are weaker than most men. This "weakness" issue can easily be resolved however through training and by setting goals for themselves. It is very sexist and mean for men to look down on women like that becasue one day women will over-rule men. I think men just need to stop being vulger and mean to us women becasue they bring our confidence down when they tell us that we aren't as good as them and that they can do more than us. It really and truly isn't fair.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Personally I believe that they should, Logically though, no, because most of the armed forces is anti-women they would be constantly demoralized and be useless in the fight to come due to exhaustion and stress, women are not inferior, they are just more emotional and are tend towards more inhibiting and emotional periods of time, making them at that point also another henderance, although sexist attitude and reproduction cycles should not inhibit women from military based combat service, it does and this result leaves them with too many faults to keep up with men who have more aggression towards each other, larger physique, and also the tendancy to become docile in the presence of a injured woman, immediatly attempting to aid her, so no, women should not be allowed inside of military combat zones, but should be allowed in service branches that are non lethal and require complete clear mind the whole 24/7.

They are; women make up a large portion of many countries' armed forces. The real question is "should women be allowed in combat?"

Since this is an opinion question I will say no to combat. Women want to be in it. However they don't realize how horrible it really is. Women have been in the military since the early part of last century and they have done an outstanding job and we even have female Generals.

____

Women are fully aware of how horrible combat is. They aren't naive little girls, nor are they blind. Women are serving in combat roles with distinction. IF they are capable, IF they are well trained then they should be allowed to.

How about the fact that they have a right to defend their country if they are able... and they are certainly able.

By having women to serve in direct combat, it will hamper mission effectiveness by hurting the unit morale and cohesion.
