yes they should because then they can listen to how he feels about people, and many look up to him too, like me!lol.but some people don't recommend it because he has so much swears in his songs, but that's why peopel buy edited copies of his albums, so they don't hear da swears.so all in all, its the parents own choice to let their kids listen to his music.

∙ 13y agoEminem has great lyrics. But if your kids are under the age of about 13 I wouldn't permit it. I mean after awhile it's their choice. They will listen to what they want and find ways whether you like it or not. But he drops the F word at least 3 times in about every song.

∙ 12y agoPeople shouldn't base the type of music they listen to on the genre alone. That's just like choosing to ignore people because of their race or ethnic background.
Although most rap/hip hop songs people listen to are about somewhat unfavorable subjects, an equal amount are actually about favorable things such as love, encouragement, equality and justice. For example, "Not Afraid" by Eminem and "Can't Hold Us Down" by Christina Aguilera.
The type of musical genre does not affect its content. It's possible for Classical Music to talk about sex and drugs, or for Country Music to talk about violence and killing. Likewise, raps can be about love and understanding, while hip hop could even be gospel. The same goes for race. Sometimes people have stereotypes about different races, such as white people will always end up musicians and politicians, Asians will end up scientists, while black people will end up on the street or selling drugs. This couldn't be more wrong, as we now see today.
The point is you shouldn't base whether kids should listen to a certain type of genre, in this case rap, but whether they should listen to certain types of lyrical content.
