Baha'u'llah tells us that God has sent him to bring a new day of God to the world. He teaches that the one God, who is the creator of all, loves all his creation and has always sent teachers to bring us closer to him. These teachers have appeared from time to time--about every 500 to 1,000 years--and have taught the same underlying message of love and unity. But due to the different circumstance of the people to whom they were sent and their different levels of spiritual understanding, some of the specific laws of each religion have differed. As humanity has evolved and civilization has developed the circle of unity has widened with these messengers, encompassing not just the family, but the tribe, the city state and, with Islam, the nation. Baha'u'llah tells us that his mission is to unite the whole world, the final stage of human unity which is also the signal of our collective coming-of-age.
