∙ 13y agoIt wasn't hard for Holmes to find Moriarty, in fact Moriarty met with Holmes on at least one occasion before their final confrontation. If he had caught him at this point, Moriarty would have not been held long by the police and he would have been set free, only to plot revenge against Holmes. Holmes had trouble gathering enough evidence to bring Moriarty to justice without him being able to be acquitted. Moriarty was a crime boss and his crimes were committed by his constituents, therefore making it difficult to connect him to any of the crimes which he devised. An attempt is made against Holmes following Moriarty's death in "The Empty House," but it is foiled by Holmes and Watson who are also investigating a crime committed by the same assassin, one of Moriarty's henchmen.

∙ 12y agoIt seems so but personally I don't think he did because without Moriarty, Sherlock is nothing. You need bad for there to be good. We will have to wait for the next series to find out.
