because his father was a king with 3 wives and one of his wives wanted her son to be king and she saved the king and he said he will give her one boon but she asks for Ram to be exiled and the king has to obey and died mourning his son just like his curse laid on him said because he killed the son of a very old couple by acsident who couldn't survive without their son

This Father was forced to ask Rama to take exile for 14 years to please his third wife Kaikeyee's wish. Sita the wife of Rama promptly followed Rama. The Rama's brother Lakshmana also joins Rama and Sita.

Rama was asked to go into exile for 14 years, by his father. Sita (Rama's wife) and Laxmana( Rama's brother) went along with Rama in to exile.
