Why was the Polis important to the ancient Greeks?
Many of the foods imported to Greece came from Asia. Many fruits like dates and nuts such as almonds and walnuts were imported.
Theatre was part of religious festivals, in which they participated either on the stage or as spectators. Interestingly the farmer-warriors were happy to dance and sing …the female parts in the chorus.
