It was part of a plan by the Australian Government to eradicate the aboriginal people by first destroying their cultural birthright. Needles to say they were stoped as the result of emigration from countries other the Britain who were appalled by what was happening and put an end to it. Land rights and mining interests are now starting to pay these people what is rightly theirs.
