Because George Lucas wanted to see if movie technology would improve over the years so that he could more fully realize his vision for the first part of the story.

No. More movies are going to be made
No. She is in Star Wars Rebels. She is 16 when she first appears, so she was only an infant during the last battles of the Clone Wars
If you are talking about a person who starred in the Star Wars movies, you are talking about Pernilla August, who played Shmi Skywalker in Episodes 1 and 2

Star trek is more successful. star wars may have made more money (I am unsure), but I have seen several scientific shows (i.e. Nova science now) and a bunch of scientists/computer programmers have been inspired by star trek. That's an impression that will last much longer than a few houses of george lucas, or some fanboy's star wars blog. (no offense to star wars. I like some of their games a lot.) Thank you for being the first person I know that admits Star Trek was way more succesful. All a have to say is SW=6 movies, 1 ongoing TV show; ST: 11 movies (and counting) and 6 TV shows. To all Star Wars Lovers: Resistance is futile; you will be assimilated.
