'The Representation of People act' became law in the UK as of February 1918, there for women over the age of 30 got to vote. Suffragette's saw this as a big step forward however it wasn't great for women under 30 as they would have to wait a while before being able to vote. Then in 1928 this got extended so that women had voting equality with men, meaning they had to be 21 or over.

Because it was finally viewed as the right thing to happen in a Democracy. Kate Sheppard first gave women the right to vote in the 1920's. She believed women should receive the same rights as men and did a lot of campaigning. New Zealand women were the first to be allowed to vote and Kate Sheppard is on the New Zealand 10 dollar note.

because of all the suffragette's campaigns for votes for women. and after the war people recognised that Britain etc would not have been able to keep on fighting without the women working!
