There are two possible causes of this. The first I have personal experience of, and the second I've been told of but can't vouch for. Some viruses (Trojans especially) can infect the 'Restore' files in Windows Me & XP. Windows will not allow these files to be deleted or altered by anti-virus software, so it will continually be picked up by AVG and might even re-infect other files whenever you re-boot. To overcome this you must disable the Restore files (See earlier answer on how to do this). Run your anti-virus - re-boot - run the anti-virus again to confirm it's all clear, enable the Restore files - re-boot.The secodn possibility is that the BIOS itself is infected and re-infects the computer each time it boots up. I'm not sure how this can happen, or even if it is possible. But, the solution is simple. Run the anti-virus. Switch the PC off and remove the battery from the motherboard. Wait for 10 seconds and replace it. When you re-start the PC the BIOS will re-build itself without the virus.
You don't say what virus AVG keeps finding?
Let me guess Trojanhorse Downloader.VB.EC in C:\windows\pup.exe
The first part is embedded in a normal web page HTML file when you look at a web page it then download's pup.exe and makes a copy with a random file name in media player.
even after healing with AVG on reboot the copy restores pup.exe and the circle goes on.
If you have this one when you try to open media player you get the virus warning
If it's not this one it might be similar.
Let me know what AVG warning is
Actually, a good friend had exactly the same problem. We discovered that if you don't empty the quarantine area in AVG after you have run it, sometimes it keeps on saying that the virus or Trojan is still there.
The tip about turning off the RESTORE feature is absolutely true. If you have Windows ME or 98, it's harder to do that but it still needs to be done.
Let us know how you are getting along with that problem?
no
Havent heard of anyone doing that.. pretty sure its a no.
They do, as long as u havent downloaded the game yet and havent seen the activation code. Contact cust. Servce.
No, from every thing ive downloaded there i havent got one virus, !
Nope, ive used it plenty, i havent gotten any viruses from it at all. Its a great program and i recommend it to anyone.
Its probably because you havent downloaded shockwave player or it might be techinical faults.
once you have downloaded it they will put an icon on your desktop so you go out of the download screen and go to desk top and open it. it will take you to login screen.if you havent downloaded it you may not get to that login screen. so download it. i love it

Not a chance what so ever some may crash your game but just disable them ive downloaded 1000s and I havent had a virus since
I dont think so, havent experienced any viruses from there but when browsing sites like that having good antivirus software is advisable
Computer viruses mostly affect the operating system. I havent heard of any instance where virus affected BIOS settings. Although there are chances.
Havent had any luck finding the code either, have you?xx
