Why would Norton Antivirus 2004 fail to reload after reloading Windows XP home edition and updating it with the latest service pack?

A possible reason for this failure is that the latest service pack failed to completely install or and error occured and the service pack was unable to successifly uninstall.
AnswerI'm assuming you've upgraded to SP2. If this is the case, the workaround for NAV 2004 that worked for me is : 1. Install WinXP Home; 2. Install NAV 2004; 3. Upgrade to SP2. There seem to be several apps which throw up errors on installing under SP2 which SP2 will recognise if installed before upgrade. Hope this works for you. Canis.
