It is probaly the mass air flow sensor.
If you are referring to adjusting the height of the pedal, I might be able to help you get started. If you can squeeze under your dash to where your pedal is, there is a stopper bar behind the pedal that can be adjusted by first loosening the washer that holds it in place and then turning the bolt until you get the pedal where you wish it to be. This is what i did for my 95 maxima, and I assume it is the same. If you are referring to adjusting the height of the pedal, I might be able to help you get started. To the right of your gas pedal under the dash
Maxima comes with Auto adjustments. All you need to adjust is brake pedal free movement.
behind the panel next to your gas pedal
to the right of the gas pedal behind the side panel
under the dash near the gas pedal, same direction where the radio is at but alway down to the floor
look on the brake pedal you will see a lil switch there that's the brake light switch
Check the brake light switch down on the brake pedal.
You will eventually lose clutch pedal pressure and the car will refuse to shift into gear.
The 1999 Nissan Maxima turn signal flasher unit can be found beneath the drivers side dashboard. The turn signal flasher unit will be above the gas pedal.
Well I posted the question and did not explain! While the car is in park or neutral is accelerates well. When you put it in gear and hit the gas it stumbles or hesitates really bad. You can push the gas pedal all the way to the floor and the engine will continue to idle then it will pick up and run with some slight misses! Fuel problem????
To the right of the gas pedal under the dash No, it is not. Removed center console and found TCM & BCM but no ECM/ECU.
