ANSWERYes, we do. In fact, that is the whole reason that we are doing a world-wide preaching campaign.

Based on world events, Jehovah's Witnesses believe that Jesus has come in the sence that he is now present in kingly power on his heavenly throne, and that he will soon come in the sence that he will turn his attention earthward to rid the earth of the problems we now face.

ANSWERMany religious groups believe that Jesus is literally returning to the Earth again as a human being as he did before. They also believe that the Jehovah's Witness belief contradicts what The Bible says about his second coming when it says 'Every eye will see him'.However,we take this passage as being symbolic,as we do other parts of the Bible.

The entire basis of our beliefs are founded on the knowledge that Jesus Christ was resurrected, and that fact provides the hope that we have in our own salvation and if we die, our resurrection. Yes, we do believe in the resurrection to the point that if we did not believe in the resurrection of the Christ, our religion would not exist.

**CLARIFICATION** An important distinction is that Jehovah's Witnessess do not believe in a physical resurrection; they believe it was in spirit only.

He is already here.

Additional information:

There are several points of view regarding the "coming again" of Jesus found in the

Christian Scriptures. But the Gospel of John and Johannine epistles strongly suggest that the Church, which is the Body of Christ empowered by the Holy Spirit, is the fulfillment of the promise of Jesus' second coming. In this sense it is accurate to say that Jesus is indeed already here.

We believe that we are living during Christ's reign as of 1914. God's kingdom has been put in place in heaven, and soon His will will be done on earth. There will be no physical presence of Christ or God on earth, but the effects of his reign will be seen when all human political governments are destroyed completely, and the wicked will be no more, and then the earth will eventually be regenerated to a paradise. No one knows when Jesus will return. Jesus himself left a message in the Bible that he (Jesus) did not know only God knows the Day.

  • "But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. [Mark 13:32].

However if we read carefully Isaiah we can deduce that Jesus' second coming will start the countdown to the end of the World but that Day, Time and Hour -- the knowledge is with God alone - the Almighty did not reveal it to any of the Prophets sent!

  • Isaiah 11:10 And in that day there shall be a root of Jesse, which shall stand for an ensign of the people...

Many Christians believe Jesus will return very soon. In fact, ever since the epistles of Paul and the Gospel of Mark, there have been predictions that Jesus would return during the lifetimes of the people then living. Over the centuries, there have been hundreds of prophecies that Jesus would return at a particular time. So, if Jesus does come back one day, we can be confident this will not happen in our lifetimes or the lifetimes of our children or grandchildren. Very likely, he will never return.

Why do Jehovah witnesses' believe Jesus ascended to heaven in 1939?

Jehovah's Witnesses believe that Jesus' ascension to heaven occurred invisibly in 33 C.E., as described in the Bible. They do not believe that Jesus ascended to heaven again in 1939 or any other specific date. The reference to 1939 may be associated with a significant event in the history of Jehovah's Witnesses, but it does not relate to Jesus' ascension.

What words should not be used by funeral director for Jehovah witness funeral?

Words taken directly from the bible are best. Jehovah's Witnesses do not believe the individual was "taken by God to be an angel", they do no believe people have an alloted time on earth so they con't usually say his or her "time had come". Jehovah's Witnesses DO believe in a ressurrection, so the bible promises that the dead one will one day live again are acceptable.

Do Jehovah witnesses believe that Jesus has returned and spirtually lives at Bethel?

No. Jesus will never live at Bethel. Jesus will return when the time of the end comes, however. No one knows the date and time of this, but the Bible calls it Armegeddon. Jehovah's Witnesses believe that Jesus' "return" as mentioned in Matthew 24:3 refers to his turning his attention to the earth in a spiritual sense. They do not believe he will ever again live on the earth but that he presently reigns as King in heaven. According to the Watchtower March 15th 2007 a future event is Jesus Coming again. "This coming refers to Jesus' appearing in the future to reward the just and punish the wicked." at which time "The political system will be completely smashed. God's Kingdom "will crush and put an end to all [human] kingdoms, and it itself will stand to times indefinite."- Daniel 2:44" [end quote]

Jehovah's Witnesses where did Jesus die?

Since it is God's Word Jehovah's Witnesses always stick to the Bible. Here is what it says concerning this matter.Matthew 27:33 -And when they came to a place called Gol´go·tha, that is to say, Skull Place...Matthew 27:35 -When they had impaled him they distributed his outer garments by casting lots...Matthew 27:50 -Again Jesus cried out with a loud voice, and yielded up [his] spirit.

When did Jehovah's Witnesses begin?

The modern day history of Jehovah's Witnesses began in 1870.Jehovah's witnesses were started before the founding of the World, Jesus Christ is the first Jehovah Witness. "Proverbs 8:22-31, 32-36". But on earth Sovereign Lord Jehovah chose a faithful Nation as his witnesses, the descendents of the faithful Abraham through Isaac by Israel (Jacob) the Nation of Israel. "Isaiah 43:1-4, 5-7, 10-11, 12-13".And in our days Sovereign Lord Jehovah had rebuilt the booth of David meaning: that after the Nation of Israel had become unfaithful on their covenant at Moab with Sovereign Lord Jehovah, "Deuteronomy 29:1, 2-6, 10-13, 14-18, 19-21, 22-29; 30:11-14, 15-16.So after this unfaithful nation broke the covenant the malediction befall that unfaithful nation "Deuteronomy 30:17-20" and after that unfaithful nation disowned and conspired against his faithful son Christ Jesus "Heb 10:28-29, 31".Jehovah God disowned that unfaithful Israel, until the time of the appointed times of the nations were fulfilled after Jerusalem was trampled on by nations Sovereign Lord Jehovah again chose a nation this time a spiritual Israel "Romans 9:6; Acts 15:14-18".So accordingly to Biblical analysis the you have seen that Jehovah Witnesses started before the founding of the world and that Jehovah God the Almighty is the one who founder of Jehovah's Witnesses after the creation of Jesus Christ. Thank you may Sovereign Lord Jehovah Bless. The modern day history of Jehovah's Witnesses began in 1870.

Can a marriage between a born-again Jewish believer in Christ and a Jehovah's Witness work What about raising children in this family?

The Bible tells us we (Christians) must not be unequally yoked. When we believe in Jesus Christ as the second person of the Trinity, as a born-again Christian, we must not unite with a person who does not believe this. Jehovah's Witnesses do not believe that Jesus Christ is God. Conversely, the Jehovah's Witnesses do not believe in inter-marriage either. If we are already married to one who does not believe as we do, or if we repent of sinning by so marrying, God will give us the strength to endure. We are not to divorce, because "God hates divorce." However, "if the unbeliever leaves, let him go." If one is already in this situation, raising of children would be difficult. Even the Bibles of Jehovah's Witnesses are different from other Christian Bibles in several important respects. I would just suggest that one do as much Bible Study as possible, and do studies with the children. One must explain to the children that while their parents love one another and love them, they disagree on the proper translation and interpretation of God's Word. Note that while both could be wrong, only one is capable of being correct, since they are so different in key areas.

Do Jehovah's Witnesses believe in prayer in schools?

Witnesses have no objection to praying in school or elsewhere but will not participate in any non Jehovah's Witness led prayer. The ''School'' brochure published by Jehovah's Witnesses says on this matter;''Jehovah's Witnesses agree that it is the parents' responsibility to give their children religious instruction. Therefore, where religious instruction is given in class, Witness parents will request that their children be excused. If the religious course includes participating in a form of worship that we consider to be unbiblical, such as bowing before images, Witness parents do not approve of this under any circumstances. On the other hand, if there is simply an objective classroom study of various religions or of the Bible, Jehovah's Witnesses have no objection. So if a school arranges talks by representatives of various religions, not to proselytize, but simply to inform the students about those religions, Witness students will respectfully listen. Similarly, when invited, Jehovah's Witnesses are pleased to give talks to school groups, explaining their religious beliefs. In some schools the Lord's Prayer, or Our Father, is repeated on a regular basis. Although Jehovah's Witnesses accept that prayer, we do not join in its ritualistic repetition. This is because at the very time Jesus provided that model prayer he counseled against praying "the same things over and over again." (Matthew 6:7, 8) Another reason we do not participate is that we do not share in any interfaith religious services''

Do Jehovah's Witnesses believe in euthanasia or life support?

Short answer; Life-support.Long Answer; Jehovah's Witnesses follow the teachings of Jesus as he was taught by his father Jehovah. Though Jehovah's Witnesses are imperfect like all of mankind, they sincerely desire to do as Jehovah requires of them.Jehovah requires that his people show respect for life and blood, in all situations that they may face in their lives. At times life will force them to perceiver under difficult circumstances. Life is very much sacred to Jehovah. This is key to Jehovah's Witnesses' beliefs since Jehovah is the source of life. (Psalm 36:9) When one considers the life of an unborn child, it is precious to Jehovah. (Exodus 21:22, 23) Also, blood represents life. Thus blood also is sacred in Jehovah's eyes, thus to Jehovah's Witnesses. (Leviticus 17:14)The answer should come as no surprise to us that Jehovah's Witnesses view life and blood as he does. A sacred gift.Jehovah's Witnesses do desire to sustain life as long as possible, again since it is a gift form Jehovah, and love this gift dearly.Although Jehovah's Witnesses love life, they will not try to save their present life by breaking God's law and thus jeopardize their prospect of everlasting life. (Matthew 16:25) With that view, they use all means available to save their lives. However when life, as it unavoidably does, age beyond the point that it is maintainable, or when a sickness or and unintentional injury causes ones body to stop functioning so as to sustain life. Then it is a personal decision by the person and the loved ones of the person under this difficult circumstance to choose whether to sustain life through artificial means. It is neither unloving nor a sin to let this loved one fall asleep in death.http://www.watchtower.org/e/20050201/article_02.htm

What are the colors of Jehovah's Witnesses?

If you are referring to colors, as in the races of people in our religion, we are a worldwide organization in 236 countries with no color or racial barriers. If you mean colors as in colors or a seal representing our organization, again there is none. We have no symbols, colors, or seals. Here's another thoughtAlthough we have no colors or seals if you think back to the holocaust the identification mark in concentration camps was a purple triangle. MoreOf course, the purple triangle was an emblem assigned to Jehovah's Witnesses by Hitler, and not Jehovah's Witnesses themselves. As far as any emblem, color, or symbol, Jehovah's Witnesses have none that we use to signify our organization.

When did Jehovah's Witnesses stop celebrating Christmas?

The 1975 Yearbook of Jehovah's Witnesses says on page 147 that a talk was given at Bethel, their world headquarters,''It was given December 12, 1928, and published in The Golden Age #241 and again a year later in #268. That talk pointed out the pagan origin of Christmas. After that, the brothers at Bethel never celebrated Christmas again.''
