I've been taking protein shakes for the last 2 years but no gout. Recent study found no connection between gout and protein consumption but consumption of alcohol, fructose-sweetened drinks, meat, and seafood are what can cause it.

It's mostly genetic so you might wanna ease into it and see how your body reacts.
