It depends on what faith you practice and who you ask. There are many different opinions on this. Here are some contributor opinions:

  • We all are sinners gay or not gay. If one sincerely seek for God one will find God. Mat 7:7 "Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you."
  • You do not go to hell no matter what, because there is no such place.
  • Sinning is about choice. Since being gay is not a choice, it is not a sin. Furthermore, it is human nature to avoid loneliness, so if a gay person finds a mate, I believe God approves.
  • If you are gay and not celibate, you will go to hell. no amount of church will stop that.
  • Gay people will go to hell even if they are celibate. Sinful thoughts are just as bad as sinful actions. Even if they go to church, they never stop choosing to have those sinful thoughts.
  • God loves everyone. No exceptions.
  • If you are a true believer in Christ, you will be saved, even if you are gay and acting on it. Because Christ forgives all your sins, past present and future. Once you are saved, you cannot become unsaved or do something to fall out of God's grace.
  • I am Jewish. We don't believe in Hell. In fact, in order for a community to condemn someone for gay actions or any sin, the sin must have 2 proper witnesses. If you condemn someone without witnessing their sin, you are committing the sin of bearing false witness. And that sin is definitely a choice. Leave the gay people alone and worry about your own life.

Could you go to hell if you dont go to church that much but you do read your bible?

You might be given hell by overly religious Christians, but no, you won't go to Hell if you don't go to Church. Even not reading the Bible won't make you go to Hell. Jesus Christ saved you. Not going to church, and not reading the Bible. Follow Jesus Christ, not a Christian religion.
