it hurts a lot unless you are asleep. if you are sleep then you don't feel a thing until you wake up.

If the surgeon has much care for the patient, they will make sure you are always not feeling anything if you do not go to sleep. That means they will ask you to tell them if you do feel pain so they can numb you more. If the surgeon does not care you are feeling pain (not movement, but pain) I would not recommend that person to anyone.

But yes, going to sleep is the best.

The time frame after the surgery is really where most of the pain comes from, swelling and pain is very normal. It can be only a few days to even a week is VERY normal. Each person is different, each tooth is different depending on tooth location and near nerves.

Always give yourself a window of a week you just may not be going to school or working.

Things to help is ice the first day, then moist heat after that. (ice is only good the first 24 hours)

Laying flat will rush blood to the area so try to sleep elevated.

After 24 hours try to use the jaw often, chewing etc. even if hurts.. you do not want it stiffing up more.

Rinse with warm salt water, good healer.

Try to keep area clean with SOFT tooth brush or gauze. Keeping bacteria off is a good thing.

It can happen you are doing well then all of a sudden on the 4th or 5th day you swell again. Not to all this happens but it can so keep that in mind. It is not the surgery that is so bad, it is the recovery like in all surgeries.

Drink lots and lots of fluids.. i got 4 extracted today and i find chocolate milk is the easiest to get down! also make sure to CONSTANTLY be icing your cheeks it will really take the pain away temporarily and prevent bruising. take your prescribed medicines and Tylenol in between if needed. get a lot of rest and be sure to stay away from hard or hot foods.. stick to soft things like mashed potatoes ice cream jello pudding etc etc. oh and also no rice or small things that could get caught and cause infections. and lastly, if you are bleeding quite a bit keep gauze in your mouth and bite down hard to prevent dry sockets!

Patients often feel a sensation of pressure or tugging during the actual extraction process. The area over the affected tooth is rubbed with a topical numbing agent, after which a needle with an analgesic numbing fluid such as a Novocain is injected into the area. Depending on the location of the wisdom tooth, one to three injections of numbing agent may be required.

Well, I'm almost 34 years old and I finally went through with it. I thought I might be able to hold onto my teeth, but no such luck. I had local anesthesia and was awake for the entire ordeal. The dentist applied some gel to my gums before the shots and then numbed me up with Novocain. It was actually quite painless. Twenty minutes later the dentist returned to start the extraction. I believe they use a prying technique to loosen the teeth before pulling them out. It took about one minute each for the top teeth and 2 minutes for the lower. Thanks to the Novocain it was fairly painless. You just feel some tugging. You do hear the roots of your teeth giving way. It sounds like cracking, but the teeth all came out undamaged. I was allowed to keep them after the procedure. They sent me on my way; I picked up my meds and headed home. I haven't had any swelling at all. In fact, when I got home I was able to do a little work around the house. You just want to be sure and stay elevated. Don't do too much bending over because that's when the blood rushes to your head. The Novocain wore off after about 4 hours, but I took the pain medication about an hour before that. The pain is bearable, but the medication alleviates it completely. Just remember to drink plenty of fluids. I'm on day 6 now and I'm eating yogurt, soup, pudding, applesauce, rice and corn dogs. I can tell you the hardest part about having your wisdom teeth removed is not being able to eat your favorite foods. Trips to the grocery store are very depressing. I was so happy just to eat a corn dog, although it takes about 15 minutes for me to finish.

A growing wisdom tooth feels like your giving labor in your mouth!!! Im suffering from it right now and i have contractions in my mouth. You can actually feel the tooth pushing its way through as well as moving the teeth to make room for your new tooth to come in. Here's some tips that helped me out when i can't get to the dentist right away. Tylenol 8hour helps alot, oragel severe pain. you can also use Tylenol rapid release tabs. they work really fast!!! gargle with warm salt water several times a day. This keeps it nice and clean because sometimes when the gum cuts to come through, the tooth or gum will bleed or fill with pus. It sounds gross cause it is. that's where the gargling comes in. You can also get a heating pad and place that on the side of your face that hurts. Eat something cold like ice cream. I ate something hard today to kind of speed up the process OUCH!!!! but it kinda helped. Unfortunately your gonna be in for a hell of a lot of pain, but if you can get to the dentist go. itll save you a lot of pain and anguish. GOOD LUCK. YOUR GONNA NEED IT.

A surgical extraction of a wisdom tooth (or teeth) is common with most young adults. During this type of extraction, an oral surgeon will cut into the gum line to expose the tooth, from which point the extraction is performed much in the same way as a simple tooth extraction.

Prior to wisdom tooth extraction, the dental office will take a panoramic x-ray to give the dental surgeon a focused and clear view of how the wisdom teeth are situated and an indication of the difficulty of extraction.

Wisdom Teeth Extraction in Hyderabad

Wisdom tooth extraction is a procedure in which an oral and maxillofacial expert or your dental specialist removes an insight tooth. In most cases, the method should be doable in the dentist's or specialist's clinic. You may undergo the procedure in a healing facility, particularly if you are having all of your wisdom teeth extracted at once or if you are at high risk for complications.

After the patient has been given a local anesthetic and the necessary x-rays have been taken, the dental professional begins the procedure by removing the gum tissue that covers the area where the insight tooth is located. If the shrewdness tooth is affected, an entry point in the gum tissue is created to gain access to the tooth. With a special instrument, the gum tissue is then moved off the beaten path until the tooth can be seen. An afflicted shrewdness tooth may be completely or partially encompassed in the bone.

Once the dental practitioner has identified the damaged insight teeth, a variety of delicate equipment is used to carefully slacken the knowledge tooth from any connective tissue in the tooth's connection. For More Information Visit Positive Dental Clinic in Hyderabad
