You cannot park within 10 feet of a fire hydrant.
You can park as far away as you want. However you should never park closer than 10 feet.

You must be at least 20 feet from the crosswalk. (§ 4179 Stopping, standing or parking.)
20 feet from a crosswalk. However, be aware that this answer differs state to state depending on the laws in that state, and what the Department of Motor Vehicles deems safe and appropriate.
Concerning California law:No. To park at a corner would be blocking a crosswalk which is illegal. Note that a crosswalk does not have to be marked as such for it to be a crosswalk. A crosswalk is basically defined as the gap between two sidewalk corners.Blocking a crosswalk prohibited: http://www.dmv.ca.gov/pubs/vctop/d11/vc21970.htmDefinition of crosswalk: http://www.dmv.ca.gov/pubs/vctop/d01/vc275.htmAlso, it is illegal to park within three feet of a sidewalk access ramp which is often placed at sidewalk corners.http://www.dmv.ca.gov/pubs/vctop/d11/vc22522.htm
In my state: Washington - you may park no closer than 20 feet to a crosswalk, and no closer than 30 feet to a stop or yield sign, and no closer than 15 feet to a fire hydrant. Your state may well have different regulations.
The UK Highway code states - "You must not park.. opposite or within 10 metres (32 feet) of a junction, except in an authorised parking space..." More details on parking restrictions can be found at the GOV UK website.

within 125 feet of the edge of the apron.
20 feet.
As long as you don't block the crosswalk, you should be good.Added: The law may (and probably does) vary from state to state but in some it is within 25 feet of the crosswalk. This distance allows for the potential pedestrian AND the oncoming driver to have the oppotunity to see one another clearly.
