If it does not have a panel on the bottom, look very closely at the side. It may have a small cover on the side that comes off, and the drive is mounted inside in a caddy.
If you are looking inside a PC, the hard drive is approximately 3x5x1 inches. It will have a strand of wires running to it and is located near your A drive.( 3x5 or dvd)

You should only touch the outside of a hard drive. The parts of the hard drive you should not touch are inside. The hard drive is sealed and if you break the seal, you void any warranties and risk any data you have inside.

If you stand it up vertically and look at the top there should be a raised bit and there will be a metal stripe down it that says HDD
If your asking if an old 360 Hard drive will fit in a new 360, no. Look at the pictures, dude. One goes on the outside, one goes on the inside.
