If the leak is toward the front of the vehicle, it could be one of you radiator hoses, or worse, your radiator. Simple leaks could also come from your overflow hose, if you recently added coolant. If the leak comes from either side of your engine that could be a freeze plug, and last a leak from around your firewall could be a hose connection, maybe related to your heater core? With your engine off and cold, and your overflow tank full, squeeze your radiator hoses and feel for a leak. If you are really careful, open your hood after your engine has been running for a while, and see if you can spot where the leak is coming from. DO NOT touch or move anything while there is pressure in the radiator!!!!!! Coolant can get pretty HOT! And Please if you have pets, do not let them get around the stuff on the ground, it can hurt them really bad if ingested, even Kill them

Can you add on a dipstick tube on 2005 Ford Explorer?

You can purchase an adapter (OTC 6604) and fluid pump (Plews 55001) from Amazon that gives you the necessary tools to fill or top off the automatic transmission fluid on that Explorer. It's really quite easy and would be considerly cheaper than trying to add a dipstick. Vehicle needs to be lifted safely, supported, level and transmission brought up to operating temparature. With engine running remove small plug from bottom of transmission pan and install the adapter. Keep a drain pan under the plug to catch any fluid. If fluid is just dripping out the transmission is full. If fluid is running out allow fluid to drain until it just drips out. If no fluid comes out pump some fluid up into the adapter and remove the pump occasionally to determine when the fluid is just dripping out. Remove the adapter when satisfied with level of fluid and install fill plug, done.

Does 2002 automatic Pontiac sunfire have a transmission dipstick?

The 2002 E2.2L engine 4speed auto does not have a transmission dipstick!! To check the fluid level you have to go under the car and unscrew and remove a threaded plug in the transmission pan. The car must be level when you do this. After you remove the plug, check to see if any transmission fluid is dripping from the hole. If there is then you don't need transmission fluid. If it is not dripping fluid you need to add some. You add fluid until it begins dripping from the hole. You then replace the plug. To add fluid you must find and unscrew a threaded cap found by looking under the hood on the driver's side on top of the transmission. Sometimes the cap is red and sometimes it is black. You may find it easier to go to a quick oil change place and get them to check it for you.

Why does my 1997 Mitsubishi Gallant have white smoke under the hood and green liquid on the parts under the hood?

IT sounds like oil is dripping on the exuast manifold check valve cover gasket. The green liquid is probably antifreeze coming from a water hose.

How do you fill fluid for rear washer in 1999 explorer?

The 1999 Ford Explorer uses only one washer fluid reservoir for both front and rear washers. It's the one under the hood on the passenger side. The forward tank is for the radiator overflow, the rearward one is for washer fluid. There's only one washer motor, too. It runs forward for the front nozzles, and reverse for the rear nozzle.

How to put in transmission fluild in a 2002 ford explorer?

the only way to check trans fluid level on '02 explorer is from under the truck.. you will need a special tool to hold nut on drain plug while you unscrew the center screw which has a tube attached to it... basically you will add fluid till it starts to leak out, then you know you are full... hope this helps..
