I'm a week late for my period and seem to be having nausea and soft and slightly tender breasts so I am wondering if it is possible to test negative in a home pregnancy test and still be pregnant?

yes. some pregnancy test show up negative, even though you are pregnant. I have the SAME problem with the EXACT same symptoms. I hope someone answers your question because I need help on this one too :(

∙ 14y agoYour symptoms sound very possible, and yes you can test negative using a home pregnancy test yet still be pregnant. If your symptoms persist or your period does not return to normal, you should make an appointment with your doctor, he/she will be able to confirm if you are pregnant or not.

∙ 14y agoIt is possible that you could be pregnant. The "light period" could have been implantation bleeding, which occurs when the fertilized egg implants on the wall of the uterus. Implantation bleeding is usually brown or pinkish in color, and it is often like a very light period. The best thing to do would be to take another pregnancy test in a few days.
