they are worms that come into your home when there i bacteria from left over food. they tend to go into your cabinets and make nests there. the only way to get rid of them is to get a bug exterminator. They are called centipedes. They are the smaller version of the same type and color. Not to be confused with a milipede. They are in search of a place to live and some food and they normally come under the door. They like damp areas like the drainline near the air conditioning unit. You can place a few pieces of wet cardboard next to the house and they may congregate there, or get some powder type dust poison like sevin or borax and dust the entrance into the house a inch or two wide on the outside. This works for roaches too.
