If it is doing it every once in awhile, then you might have the same problem I did. Ford has a very big problem with the Cam sensor, and the Synchronizer. With mine, the synchronizer did something, and broke the Camshaft positioning sensor. How it ran I have no clue, but it would start knocking and studdering. It would come and go, but never lasted long. Do not go to Ford for the part. It is over $200.00, and they want $200.00 for the tool you have to have to time it. I went to a National Auto Parts A. store, and got everything for $47.00, and it came with the Cam positioning sensor, the Synchronizer, and the tool needed to set the timing of it. I hope this helps, good luck.
need a new engine most likely. driving dry or on low oil for a few miles will cause that..it will be cheaper for you to just get a used engine with lower miles from a junk yard than taking it apart and rebuilding it..
it could be a number of things ranging from low oil, worn valve seats, worn or broken springs.
Change to a higher viscosity oil and see if you can get the knocking to be a little quieter, you might get quite a few miles if you don't over-rev it and drive real easy.
The super volcano at Yellowstone National Park is 35 miles by 45 in diameter. It is one of the largest volcanoes in the world and when it does erupt it will likely cause a mass extinction.
Sounds as if it's heating up. Are you using the right fuel? Some Sportsters call for premium only!
AnswerIts most likely to be the Crank Position Sensor (CPS) failing.
Most likely, yes. They should last 200,000 miles. Most likely, yes. They should last 200,000 miles.
cause everyone does
When you accelerate. you are putting presure on the main engine barrens. if they are going bad. You will hear this knocking sound. I don't know how many miles you have on this engine. But that's what it sounds like. But that's not all that can make this sound. You will have to tell more about it and when it started. Did it just start all at once? or did it start and then get louder?
I walked a million miles to get to you, it is very likely that you did NOT in fact walk 1 million miles.
If the question is how many miles is two miles less than seven miles, then 5 miles is an exact answer. If the question is how far is your house from mine, then 5 miles is more likely to be an approximate answer.
More than likely a loose air hose. Easy to fix, just tighten or get a new jubilee clip
