this advise should be concider as an opinion.
depending on how you purchased the vehicle the manufacturer will make their desicion.
perhaps you had the vehicle serviced by an auto shop that isn't lisence by Chrysler and therefore you voided your waranty.
or the vehicle was purchase used and the above problem was an issue.
or the vehicle was savage.
if they wont change it , you may have to have it change at your own cost.(don't go to a dealer)
Stuck thermostat, scale build up in the radiator and engine block, radiator cap not holding correct pressure. or it could be your headgaskets
Is it at the correct fill level ? If the radiator is old it is possible some corrosion has blocked up soemwhere and the radiator may need anther draining and flush through with water till it clears out.
Does the radiator cap hold the correct pressure? Has the coolant been in the motor for a very long time? Is there alot of scale buildup on the inside of the radiator? Is the water and antifreeze mixture right? Is the cars oil pressure good? Is the thermostat stuck closed? Any of these will do it.
replace the radiator correct, the radiator is junk.
Make sure the thermostat is installed correctly, then there are other factors to consider. Your radiator may be plugged or corroded ( if you run anything but the correct mix of coolant and water you will have this), The radiator fans may not be engaging, the water pump may be bad, you could have a head gasket failure.
The cooling system on a car has to be pressurized, which a bad radiator cap fails to produce. It can cause overheating, therefore resulting in engine damage (i.e. blown head gasket) if left for too long and it can also cause the system to not heat to the correct temp at all. Obviously, the other effect is leakage.
It is possible that the coolant mixture is not correct- that can make a car run hot. It is possible for the water pump to go out. Also it is possible to be having a problem with the radiator fan.
Yes, that indicates overheating. Change the oil and be sure and use the correct weight. Make sure the engine is not overheating.
well wire a switch running from your fan to your battery.
Look for the obvious ie check wiring to temp sender and sender is ok, water leaks even at the back of the eng bay also heater radiator which is located inside the car, if all is ok check that thermostat is opening at correct temp (remove to check when eng is cold) if opening at correct temp the next thing is your eng block & radiator could be partially blocked if so then the radiator should be removed for specialist repair and clean block appropriately, and last but not least if all the above is ok then the problem lies internally ---- headgasket, cracked head even cracked block ---- good luck
with the correct tools
check to see if the electric fan is working and cutting in at the correct temp. other thing to check is your temp gauge working correctly? check coolant temp with the OBD diagnostic tool and see if this is saying that the coolant is overheating. check to see if the electric fan is working and cutting in at the correct temp. other thing to check is your temp gauge working correctly? check coolant temp with the OBD diagnostic tool and see if this is saying that the coolant is overheating.
