Go to Auto Zone. They will read your trouble code for free. When the check engine light stays on it sets a trouble code in the computer. There is a computer port under the steering wheel to plug in a code scanner/reader. Check the air filter for dirt. If the sparkplugs have more than 10,000 miles put in new ones. The cost will be recovered in better fuel mileage.
