Your 99 Cougar shifts very hard with a jerk when you take your foot off the gas up shifting you can put the pedal to the floor it works fine but when it drops RPMs it jerks bad What could cause this?

it might be your rev limeter but im not there so im just guessing .are you putting it to the floor and letting up all the way
