The fan belt is fit onto a Mercedes Vito by loosening the alternator bracket and allowing it to move downward. The belt can then be slipped over the remaining pulleys and then back over the alternator.
Detach all wires. Unbolt alternator. Use a visegrip or the correct sized socket or wrench on the tensioner pully. Relieve the tenson on the belt and slip it off of the alternator. If you can, keep the belt on all of the other pulleys as best as possible. It's a pain to get it back on. Remove alternator, then put everything back together with the new alternator.
loosen the tension on the belt with the tension pulley, remove the belt then disconnect your wires from the alternator then take the 3-4 bolts, holding the alternator on, off. then do the opposite to put the new one back on
pull it back out
Disconnect your battery first. Then remove the belt you can buy or borrow a tool for the tension pulley or use a long bar just be careful where you rest it. Remove the nut on the back of the alternator holding the power wire then remove the to bolts holding the alternator.
If you're facing the front of the car, it's near the back left above engine level in plain view.
disconnect the battery then look at the alternator should be right on top of the motor in the back left corner maybe 2 or 3 blots holding it in as well as 2 wires running to it very simple
