What do you do if your boyfriend wants to kill himself and takes it out on you?

You should definitely try to talk your boyfriend into seeking professional help first and foremost.

Secondly, do not blame yourself, he is apparently going through some type of inner struggle and you are not to blame for anything because you did nothing wrong.

Talk with him about his problems (if he cares to talk about them) be supportive and understanding. If he starts to take it out on you, try to explain to him that you are not the one to blame, and he should find a professional to talk to, to find out why he is having these feelings.

We've all got problems, things in our lives that we are dealing with emotionally/mentally.

Sometimes we all need a little help, and there is no shame in seeking that help from a psychologist/therapist or support group.

In fact it makes you a stronger person when you face your problems and realize and understand that you need help.

And you yourself also need to consider a support group or just sharing your feelings with your friends and family if you already haven't.

Being in a relationship with a person that has a mental disorder and that's often suicidal is extremely difficult on many levels.

Get professional help, you can't handle a situation as serious as this by your self. Some people may not belive a person who threatens to take their own life; that it's a need for attention. Don't believe it! One cannot take a chance on such a threat. Try talking to him about going to see a psychologist or, go straight to Mental Health and they should help you out and lead you in the right direction. You can discuss ty discussing with him why he feels so desperate and depressed and hopefully talk him down until you can get some help. If he actually tries to take his own life then call the ambulance immediately and the hospital will take care of your boyfriend's needs. I wish you both the best of the luck.

I would say that you need to tell someone. Suicide is not a joke, it is very real. If he has threatened suicide, you have to tell someone who can get him the help that he needs, like a parent or counselor. Once you have done that I would say for your sanity, you need to get out of that relationship, it does not sound healthy at all. Remind him thatif he kills himself the pain he feels now is nothing compared to the pain you will feel, remind him of happy memories or the people who love him, engage in activities he enjoys and make him feel special. If he starts harassing you or making you feel bad tough, tell him in a calm manner you love him and want him to stop, just remind him how important he is.
