It might help knowing the year make and model of your vehicle, and if it's auto or manual and maybe the engine size.

1. If it's auto maybe shift control sol.

If it's manual, does the clutch go in and out normally when you push on the pedal. Can you push in the clutch and shift into 1st then let out the clutch while accelerating normally. Does it go from 1st to 3rd without a problem.
